This Week's Update [7/5/15] - Nice Long Weekend

[The Weekly Update is an email that was started in the fall of 2010 to keep family and friends informed of my medical condition and has continued as a review of family activities.  Written by Zelma and edited by Steve. Working on adding past issues to the blog.]

Hi all,

We had a nice 4th of July weekend.  Friday, Steve and I went to Camp Abilities to watch the kids ride on the bikes Steve tuned up.  We caught the orange and green team at their duathlon competition (1 mile of running and 3 miles of biking).  Depending on the campers visual ability they either ride a tandem with a sighted coach or a single.  It was a lot of fun watching the kids enjoy the biking.

On Saturday, we had the first family bike ride where Matthew joined us. He rode the first 8.5 miles and then Steve and I rode on for a total of 15.8 - our longest ride so far this year.  I finally feel like I'm getting back into our old normal - which is a good reminder about why you should bike every day.

Miles for the week are 66, miles for 2015 are 1,762 and total miles are 14,016.

Take care,

Zelma
